Cup profile

Red Bourbon is a washed specialty lot from La Cedrela, Planadas, Tolima, grown at 1900 m and scored 87 points. In the cup: red berries, panela, orange, black plums.

About the variety

Bourbon takes its name from Bourbon Island (today Réunion), where French missionaries planted it in the 18th century. Red Bourbon is the classic form: sweet, balanced and full-bodied.

Where it grows

Tolima lies in central Colombia on the slopes of the Central Andes. Its southern municipalities, such as Planadas and Rioblanco, have become a reference for high-altitude specialty coffee. La Cedrela farm sits at 1900 m in Planadas.

Processing

Washed: the cherries are depulped, fermented to loosen the mucilage, washed and dried. This gives clean, bright cups that show the variety and terroir clearly.

The lot was fermented only with its own microorganisms, with nothing added.
